Scientist, Pharmacogenetics

Variantyx is looking to hire a scientist with experience in Pharmacogenetics and Next-Generation Sequencing. 

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development of Variantyx pharmacogenetics platform.
• Participate in validation and data quality control studies of the Variantyx clinical pharmacogenetics platform. Recognize issues requiring further actions and participate in development of appropriate solutions.
• Generate QC validation reports and participate in publications preparation
• Perform pharmacogenetic analysis and generate reports utilizing established processes. Contribute to the further development of the processes and approaches.
• Keep track of databases, publications, guidelines, reporting standards, and competitor’s advances in pharmacogenetics.
• Contribute to development of new pharmacogenetic testing approaches with detection of possible pitfalls and generation of alternative approaches.
• Other relevant duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, medical laboratory science, or pharmacology
• Extensive experience with NGS analysis and deep understanding of the technical benefits, specific applications, and limitations
• Strong publication record as author of peer-reviewed articles in the field of pharmacogenetic testing
• Familiarity with current trends and guidelines in pharmacogenetic testing of inherited genetic traits
• Strong Bioinformatics skills, particularly in NGS
• Must be able to organize and handle multiple tasks
• Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor
• Must be a self-starter with a high level of initiative
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
